Treasures in Heaven

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

~ Matthew 6:19-24

With light we have understanding. Without light or "being in the dark" we have no comprehension.

When having an eye single to the Lord we are serving the Lord. We are following his ways. We are building upon his rock, the rock of heaven where all those who keep the ways of God are one.

If we serve the Lord then we are not serving mammon. If we serve mammon then we are not serving the Lord.

If we do things while "in the dark" or mindlessly without light then we are not in control of what we are doing. Then, the question is, who is in control of what we are doing? Is it mammon? and if it is mammon then it is ultimately the devil who is in control. Who wants the devil in control? The devil.

We need to seek "the light" and be in control ourselves.
